Position Overview:
WCHAM is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Coordinator of the South America Program. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen WCHAM’s presence and impact in South America. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for driving economic development and fostering partnerships across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to expand WCHAM’s presence in South America, with a focus on increasing membership, engagement, and collaboration with local businesses and organizations.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and chambers of commerce, to promote WCHAM’s mission and objectives in the region.
  • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration with South American businesses and organizations to support mutual growth and development.
  • Organize and coordinate events, conferences, and networking opportunities to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and business opportunities among WCHAM members and South American stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to WCHAM members operating in or seeking to expand into South America, including market research, regulatory analysis, and business development assistance.
  • Monitor and analyze economic, political, and business trends in South America to inform WCHAM’s advocacy efforts and strategic initiatives in the region.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Membership, Communications, and Policy, to ensure alignment and integration of South America initiatives with WCHAM’s overall goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, business administration, economics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international business development, program management, or related field, with a focus on South America.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in South America, including government officials, industry leaders, and chambers of commerce.
  • Strong understanding of the political, economic, and business landscape in South America, with experience working in the region preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
