Coordinator, Africa Program

Position Overview:
WCHAM is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as the Coordinator, Africa Program. In this role, you will play a key role in driving the organization’s initiatives and activities in the African region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic programs and partnerships to promote economic growth, trade, and investment opportunities in Africa.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement strategic initiatives and programs to promote economic cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities in Africa.
– Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, business associations, and industry leaders across Africa.
– Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with international organizations, development agencies, and other stakeholders to support WCHAM’s Africa-focused initiatives.
– Conduct research and analysis on economic trends, market opportunities, and regulatory developments in African countries to inform program development and decision-making.
– Organize and coordinate events, conferences, and trade missions aimed at promoting business opportunities and facilitating networking among stakeholders in the African region.
– Provide support to WCHAM members and partners interested in expanding their presence and operations in Africa.
– Collaborate with internal teams to integrate Africa-focused initiatives into broader organizational strategies and programs.
– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, and prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in international relations, business administration, economics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
– At least 3-5 years of experience in international business, economic development, or related field, with a focus on Africa.
– Strong understanding of African markets, economic trends, and regulatory environment.
– Proven track record in program management, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations.
– Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Fluency in English required. Proficiency in French or other African languages preferred.
– Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
